Eligibility Requirements:
- Own and occupy the property for 3 years prior to applying
- Gross annual household income must be below 80% of the median household income for El Paso
- Home assessed market value must not exceed $183,350 before and after rehabilitation value
- Homeowners must be residents within the city limits of El Paso, Texas
- Total household members are considered for income computation
- Owner is defined as any person or persons having fee simple title by deed
- Manufactured homes must be registered as permanently affixed to the ground (not mobile)
Loan Details:
- All loans and deferred payment loans are secured by a Builder’s and Mechanic’s Lien Contract and Deed of Trust (with Power of Sale)
- Maximum assistance amounts include construction hard costs, soft costs, and closing costs
- Any amount exceeding the maximum limits will be included in the loan/deferred payment loan
- Assistance is available to bring dwelling units into compliance with International Residential Codes and local ordinances.
